Who Was Ric Summers?

Ric Summers

Ric Summers is honored every year at Shooting for a Cure. He is forever in our hearts.

Ric Summers, a loving husband, brother, son and best friend and native of Palestine, Texas, was an avid hunter and fisherman as well as a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. He received an Industrial Distribution degree from Texas A & M University in 2000, being a member of the class of 1999 and worked for GE Supply/Gexpro for eight years where he was a top leader in his business. He was an Eagle Scout and current Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 440. With a love for life, he lived each and every day to its fullest!

Shortly after Ric lost his hard-fought, two year battle to appendiceal cancer on Oct. 13, 2009, his wife established a fund at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston to be used towards research of this extremely rare form of cancer.
